This is an overland adventure! We've planned a selection of routes and some accommodation but what you see along the way is up to you, along with daily challenges. This a true overland experience.
The Westcountry Rally is a 9 day rally around the Westcountry, starting and finishing in Taunton. Taking in some of the best roads and experiences that Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Dorset have to offer. We're based in Devon and have spent years exploring the Westcountry and all it has to offer. We welcome any kind of vehicles, big or small.
Why is the Westcountry Rally so different? While most 'rallies' around the world have a theme; sports cars, Ford KA's, budget bangers and classic cars, the list is endless. The Westcountry rally has a theme as well, this is an adventure rally. Unlike other rallies you will be sent the route for the next day the night before, this map includes several things of interest that can be found along the route(s), with the idea being that your team has a selection to choose from, whether that's a walk along the South West Coast Path, trying some local delicacies or a hidden beach.. The list here is quite endless, as there is so much to choose from! At the end of each day we'll meet up; whether that's at a campsite, wild camp or hostel and go through our daily challenges and share our stories over a pint of your favourite. You will then be handed your next day of adventure! |

Cost breakdown
What are you likely to spend? We've been involved with some pretty big adventures on extreme budgets, we can pretty accurately budget for these now. This a guestimate for you. Of course, this is only an example as many things could be higher or lower than predicted. We also don't know your interests or budget.

Itinerary
Day 1 – (Evening meet and greet) We'll meet up Friday evening at 8pm, just outside of Taunton, where we can have a look at all the vehicles joining us. Day 2 – (So it begins…) The first day of our adventure will see us covering gorgeous roads and stunning scenery, on two routes of your choice. The choices are difficult as there are so many. It depends on what you fancy: hikes, sea cliffs, high moorlands, coastal villages, off grid pubs, beaches or historical buildings. Take your pick, what do you feel like? Day 3 – (Which Adventure do you choose?) First order of the day, time to try our hand at some surfing, that’s if you want of course. If that doesn’t float your boat, there’s so much adventure to be had here; Horse riding, hiking, sunbathing (hopefully) and who knows what adventures we might find here. |
Day 4 – (Time to really move…)
A place famous for it’s castle, tin mines and immense cliffs. It would be insanely rude not to have look around. That’s before heading further in to the depths of the peninsula, but before that there is a chance to see who's the fastest. Day 5 – (To the end of the world…) Onwards to the end of the world, I wonder can you guess where this is? Well you're probably right. However, we’ve got a twist for getting there, along with our list of things to see along this dramatic piece of coastline. Day 6 – (In to water and space) From the world we venture all together into the land of space Lizards! Confused? Good. That's the point, you'll have to come along and find out. This is getting more cryptic by the minute. We will be taking the cars for a swim with the help of our first ferry. |
Day 7 – (Let's get some height)
A short drive together today, followed by our guided walk. If an easy walk around this fantastic place of history isn't your thing, how about something on two wheels or with four legs? Then again, how about just enjoying the peace and quiet? There's also a brewery and distillery here, just saying.

Day 8 – (The perfect driving road)
A chance to explore some open moor or an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Either way, the roads are flipping brilliant today. So fill your boots or tyres! There is another ferry on one of today's routes. Will you get your wet feet or not? Day 9 – (Into the Lanes) The wildlife around this area is something else. There has been plenty of opportunities to see wildlife throughout the rally so far, however today's optional outing is a bit different. The route today takes into the lanes of Devon, there are some fantastic windy roads. Day 10 – (The end is nigh) Today is a short drive through our final county. We'll be finishing early afternoon, to allow time for you to drive home, although you can’t leave before some customary prizes are given out. |
